About

Hi!  Welcome to Visual Verses.  This site is created for parents, kids, godparents, grandparents, and pretty much anyone who loves God, to come and find visual representations of scripture and prayers.

We live in a time when many people don’t know their Bible.   I am sure it goes without saying it is important to know scripture.  When we read the Bible we come to know God and God’s beloved people.  But if we are really honest about our life (and priorities) tending to our faith life is often the last thing on the list.  In recognition that people are busy and are tired of feeling like they ought to do more, I have created Visual Verses to help us experience God in brief moments of our lives.

You will find pictures, photos, and writings here in connection with Bible Verses and prayers.  Many Christians use the Revised Common Lectionary (a group of readings) each Sunday during worship.  You can find verses from these readings on this site.   Sometimes the verses shared will be Old Testament, sometimes from the New Testament.  Other times prayers, Psalms, Songs, and the Gospels will be shared.  But always, it will take just a moment to be with one another and God.

The goal, or better yet Hope, is that you will find this a place where you and your loved one (young or old) can look on together, read a snippet of scripture, dream about what it means, talk about it so you can remember the verse, and come to know God and each other more.

The Book of Common Prayer has this prayer for God’s people –

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Proper 28

What a beautiful prayer really!  No guilt – no shame – no shoulds – no oughts – just simply asking God to help us to engage Holy Scriptures with patience, endurance, and hope.

I will continue to pray this prayer for us and to give God thanks for the time together.  May we be  mutually encouraging on our journey of faith.   May God bless us with the time and grace to come to know and love Him more through the beauty of the Bible.

God’s Blessings, Hope, and Joy,

Rev. Beth+
